RAWALPINDI – Federal Minister for Railways Hanif Abbasi said steps are being taken for the improvement of the railway stations across the country in order to provide more facilities to passengers.
Talking to media, the minister ATM facilities will be ensured at all railway stations in the country. However, he did not share any schedule in this regard.
The minister further said the railway stations of Taxila, Rawalpindi, and Lahore will be upgraded to international standards.
He said all these steps are being taken in line with the directives of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif who has called for bringing digitization in the sector.
He said that Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has launched many projects in Rawalpindi, and Wi-Fi facilities are going to be provided at 40 railway stations.
Pakistan Railways is moving towards modernization, and a tracking system is necessary in the railway so that people can stay informed about the travel of their loved ones.
Pakistan Railways Launches ‘Track My Train’ App
Earlier, Pakistan Railways introduced a new mobile application that enables passengers to track their trains in real time, aiming to improve travel convenience and transparency.
The newly launched app, titled “Track My Train,” comes with a modern interface and offers live location updates, allowing users to monitor the exact position of their train, view upcoming stations, and check estimated arrival times.
According to officials from the Ministry of Railways, the previously used “Pakistan Railway Tracking System” has now been officially phased out. The new application replaces the older system, offering a more reliable and user-friendly experience.
Railway authorities stated that the initiative was taken in response to growing public demand for improved digital services in the transportation sector. The app is now publicly available and is expected to significantly enhance the overall travel experience for rail passengers across the country.
