Tree plantation vital to tackle climate change


Speaker National Assembly Asad Qaiser has said that Pakistan is one of the worst affected countries due to adverse impact of abrupt climate change.

He said that maintaining suitable and friendly environment for our future generation is our responsibility.

Addressing the opening ceremony of Monsoon Plantation Driver at Swabi University on Thursday, he urged the whole nation to take part in plantation drive of incumbent government.

Asad Qaiser said that Billion Tsunami Tree plantation during last tenure of PTI government in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) has saved almost three and half lac acre of agriculture land from desrtruction.

He said that the international institutions also recognized the success of Billion Tsunami Tree project. He said that Swabi would be a centre of development and progress.—INP
