LAHORE—The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) sealed 102 illegal commercial buildings and commercialisation fee defaulter premises during operations in housing schemes and LDA-controlled areas on last Wednesday.
LDA’s Town Planning Wing sealed 41 buildings in Garden Town, Faisal Town and Gulberg, 18 in Shadman, Shah JamalN, New Muslim Town and on Canal Bank Road, 31 in Subzazar Housing Scheme, and 12 in Quaid-e-Azam Town for illegal commercial use and nonpayment of commercialisation fees.
The sealed premises include The Savvy School, Reward School, Royal Heaven Cambridge School, Zam Zam Pharmacy, Oxygen Pharmacy, grocery stores, clinic, offices, and other businesses.
LDA Chief Town Planner I, Assad-uz-Zaman, supervised the operations which were carried out by the enforcement teams with the assistance of the Police.
According to the LDA officials, several notices were served to the owners of these buildings before the operations were carried out.
LDA Director General Tahir Farooq has directed continuing indiscriminate operations against encroachments, illegal commercial buildings and commercialisation fee defaulters in all housing schemes and LDA-controlled areas.
