A delegation of the representatives of the All Pakistan Employees Grand Alliance held a detailed meeting with Federal Ministers Pervez Khattak and Ali Muhammad Khan on Thursday and discussed with them budgetary allocations for the government employees in line with the federal government’s commitment regarding increase in allowances and other privileges for the government employees.

The employees’ delegation was headed by Rehman Bajwa and consisted of the alliance’s senior members.

He requested the government ministers to take up their case on priority basis as these teachers, mostly female have been on roads protesting for the five months and no one was listening to them.

However, these teachers are unable to return to their parent departments, since in most cases there was no one who could take care of them.

“They have their families well-settled here and their children are admitted to the local schools, colleges, and universities.

Leaving their families and going back to their provinces will amount to great physical and mental torture,” said Rehman Bajwa.

In the government’s wedlock policy there is a provision of absorption of teachers on 10 percent annual quota and a summary has also been moved by one of the senior officers of the FDE, he further said.
