Steps mulled to implement SHC orders regarding milk price



The city administration has decided to take priority measures to review the price of milk in the city and address the grievances of the citizens regarding the quality of milk.

A review meeting was held with milk sellers in attendance at his office on Thursday under the chairmanship of Commissioner Karachi Naveed Ahmed Sheikh in which they considered taking steps to implement the orders of the Sindh High Court issued to curb milk inflation.

The meeting was also attended by representatives of the administration, Food Authority, Bureau of Supply, Livestock Department, Dairy Agriculture and Livestock Farmers Association.

Representatives of Dairy Farmers Association, Malik Wholesalers Association and Malik Retailers Association also attended the meeting.

Additional Commissioner One Asad Ali Khan, Deputy Commissioner MalirGunwarLeghari, Deputy Commissioner South IrshadSodhar Deputy Director, Food Authority Shahzeb Sheikh, Advocate Nadeem Sheikh Chairman Consumers Association of Pakistan Kokab Iqbal Assistant Director Bureau of Supply Ali Haider, officials of Livestock Department and representatives of associations of milk farmers, wholesalers and retailers and others were present.

The Commissioner presented various measuresto milk sellers to check the price of milk from increasing and also check the quality of milk.

The Commissioner said that priority measures have been taken to ensure adequate supply of milk at reasonable prices.
