LAHORE – Prices for solar panels have recorded a significant decline as there is a dip in electricity demand due to start of the winter seasons.
The dropping solar panel prices will benefit consumers looking to install solar energy systems before the start of the summer season when prices are likely to move up.
Reports said the price of solar systems ranging from 5 to 15 kW has decreased by as much as Rs150,000.
5 kilowatt Solar System New Price
The cost of a 5 kW solar system has now dropped to Rs550,000. The system includes solar panels, inverter and other accessories.
7kW Solar System Price
A 7 kW solar system is priced at Rs625,000 from December 2025. The system can power a wide range of household appliances, including two 1.5-ton inverter ACs, a refrigerator, fans, lights, and a washing machine.
10kW Solar System Price
A 10 kW system is available for Rs900,000 as of December 2025, according to reports.
15 kW Solar System Latest Price
The 15 kW system is now priced at Rs 1,300,000 after recent decline in rates. The solar system with this capacity is required for high-energy consumers like large homes or small businesses. It can power essential and heavy appliances such as multiple air conditioners, refrigerators, and fans.
Recently, President Asif Ali Zardari temporarily suspended the 16% General Sales Tax (GST) imposed on consumers generating electricity via solar systems. This decision comes after a reconsideration of a review petition filed by solar system users.
The president approved an appeal regarding the solar GST, directing the Federal Tax Ombudsman to review the case thoroughly.
