Smuggling bid foiled

Lahore—The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) on Tuesday arrested two people at the Allama Iqbal International Airport here over an alleged attempt to smuggle foreign currency worth Rs 1.6 million to Dubai.
According to the FIA Immigration officials, a passenger identified as Tauqir Khan, along with one Ahsan, arrived at the airport to take Shaheen Airlines’ Dubai-bound flight. Finding him suspicious, the FIA immigration team searched his hand carry luggage and recovered foreign currency, including Euro, UAE Dirham and Saudi Riyal worth equivalent to Rs 1.6 million from him.
