FAISALABAD – Faisalabad police have arrested Sahibzada Hamid Raza, central leader of the Sunni Ittehad Council and member of the National Assembly, and transferred him to Faisalabad Central Jail, sources confirmed.
The police sources said that Sahibzada Hamid Raza was wanted in multiple cases and had already been sentenced by a local court.
The cases against him were related to attacks on sensitive institutions during protest movements, for which the court had awarded him a 40-year jail term.

Sources added that police had been attempting to apprehend him for a considerable period, but previous efforts had not been successful.
It is notable that Sahibzada Hamid Raza had resigned in September this year from his position as Secretary Information of Tehreek Tahaffuz-e-Aain Pakistan. Commenting on his resignation, he stated that he stepped down following party instructions.
