Security beefed up in provincial capital

Capital City Police Officer (CCPO), B.A Nasir Wednesday directed to beef up the security in the provincial metropolis after suicide bomb blast in Peshawar.
The CCPO issued necessary directions to all the divisional SPs to review security arrangements in their respective divisions and set up pickets for thorough checking of people. He also directed the officers to increase the force on all entry and existing points of the city and system of checking should be made more effective in these points.
He also directed to maintain a close liaison with intelligence agencies to collect information besides strict checking of hotels and guest houses as well as surveillance and searched of suspicious persons.
The personnel of Police Response Unit (PRU), Dolphin and others have been directed to conduct patrolling on all important thoroughfares in city.
CCPO further directed all the divisional SPs to implement these directions in letter and spirit. Meanwhile, after the directions the police have been put on high alert in order to meet any eventuality in the city.—APP
