University of Health Sciences Lahore (UHS) handed over a donation of 2,000 PPEs (Personal Protective Equipment) for doctors to Punjab Governor Chaudhry Sarwar.
While a business women also gave away 3,000 masks to Punjab Governor Chaudhry Sarwar. According to details, Dr Hamayun from UHS and Shehla Javed Akram, President, Women Chamber of Commerce and Industry, called on the governor and handed him over a donation of 2,000 PPEs for doctors of Lahore and other cities of Punjab, while a business women Hira Naz from Beskin Robbins ice cream company also donated 3,000 masks for protection against coronavirus here on Monday.
Talking to media on this occasion, Punjab Governor Chaudhry Sarwar said that every inevitable measure will be taken at any cost to protect 220 million Pakistanis from coronavirus. In order to avoid America and Germany like corona situation, it is necessary that people must fulfill their responsibility and stay home because coronavirus is unfortunately spreading, and any laxity by even a single person can cause spread of this fatal virus that is why every Pakistani will have to fulfill his responsibility.
He said that no doubt, like other countries of the world Pakistan is also facing financial and other problems due to coronavirus pandemic, and this is the reason, Prime Minister Imran Khan has called upon global community to give relief on loans. Today, developing countries are not only have the challenges of controlling corona pandemic and cope with economic constraints in this regard but also faced with another major problem of people’s mortality due to starvation.
On one hand, we have to protect people from coronavirus while on the other hand we also have to overcome their financial constraints due to corona crisis. In this way, developing countries are facing even more problems when compared with developed world. Today, war against coronavirus pandemic has become the war of entire world and together all have to play their due role on this front.
He said federal and Punjab governments are working actively to ensure ration supply and financial aid to poor families affected by corona crisis. In this connection, philanthropists’ cooperation and contribution is exemplary and commendable by all aspects.
