Rising street crimes: Enraged mob thrash robber in city

People caught an alleged robber and handed him over to police after thrashing him publicly here in Karachi.The incident was reported in Karachi’s Numaish Chowrangi area, where a robber tried to loot citizens.

However, upon hue and cry from the senior citizen some passers-by overpowered the snatcher and beat him up before handing him over to the police.Street crime has witnessed a sharp increase in Karachi as almost 263 incidents were reported daily in the city, according to Citizens-Police Liaison Committee (CPLC) report.

According to the report almost 263 incidents were reported daily basis in the month of August, showing that the law enforcement agencies (LEAs) have failed to overcome criminal activities in the metropolis.While quoting figures from the Karachi police database, the report revealed that robbers have killed 44 people were killed in various incidents of street crimes in one month.
