More than 13,000 applications have been received under the Global IT Certifications Program for acquainting youth with internationally recognised digital skills certifications.
The Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) launched the initiative in September 2024 at the direction of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz.
It was highlighted during a meeting that over 7,000 applicants have successfully cleared the eligibility verification stage through the PITB-developed portal.
PITB Chairman Faisal Yousaf chaired the meeting attended by Director General e-Governance Sajid Latif, Director Skills Development Wing Chaudhary Ahmad Islam, and other senior officials.
Payment verification for nearly 400 candidates has also been completed, while the fee reimbursement process for 278 candidates—after confirmation of their certifications—is currently underway. Furthermore, 226 young professionals who have completed their certifications have already received full reimbursement of their course fees directly into their accounts.
The Program aims to equip the youth with globally recognised digital competencies and enhance their competitiveness in the international job market.
Speaking on the occasion, PITB Chairman Faisal Yousaf noted that the Global IT Certifications Program not only facilitates access to top-tier technology certifications but also ensures complete fee reimbursement for candidates who pass their exams.
