Punjab govt should announce financial assistance for family of slain Sri Lankan citizen

Honorary Consul General of Sri Lanka Yasin Joiya called on Acting Governor Punjab Chaudhry Parvez Elahi at Governor House on Tuesday.

Expressing heartfelt condolences on behalf of the Pakistani government and the entire nation to the Sri Lankan government, people and bereaved family, Ch Parvez Elahi said that Islam is a religion of peace and security, humanity has bowed its head in shame over Sialkot incident.

He said that the Punjab government should immediately announce financial assistance for the family of the slain Sri Lankan citizen.

Honorary Consul of Sri Lanka Yasin Joiya thanked the Government of Punjab for sending the body of the deceased in a timely and dignified manner on behalf of the Government of Sri Lanka and the High Commission.

Acting Governor Punjab Ch Parvez Elahi also appreciated the initiative taken by Yasin Joiya to make arrangements for the body of Sri Lankan citizen within 48 hours.
