Punjab on Thursday requested the federal government to cancel the transfer orders of the Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Lahore, Ghulam Mehmood Dogar.

It is worth mentioning here that the Punjab government has written a letter in this regard to the centre that the province needs CCPO Lahore right now. In the letter, the Punjab government said that the transfer of CCPO Lahore Ghulam Mehmood Dogar should be cancelled.

Although immediately after receiving his transfer orders around three days ago, CCPO Lahore Ghulam Mahmood Dogar received a pat on his back from Punjab Chief Minister Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi, who had even said that under no circumstances he would be relieved of his duties in the province, the Punjab government has now written a letter to the Center to stop the CCPO’s transfer.

Under the rules, it is mandatory to comply with the federal government orders within seven days.
