LAHORE – The Punjab government has shared update about balloting of its free electric taxi scheme 2025.
The scheme, aimed at promoting eco-friendly transport options, has garnered significant attention, with more than 28,000 citizens submitting applications to obtain electric taxis.
According to the Department of Transport, the scrutiny process for the applications is currently underway. The submitted data has been forwarded to the Bank of Punjab to facilitate further steps in the process.
After the balloting, successful applicants will be contacted for the down payment phase.
Punjab Free E-Taxi Scheme 2025 Balloting Date
The provincial government has planned to conduct balloting of Punjab e-taxi scheme 2025 in last week of November 2025.
When will Applicants Receive Electric Taxis?
Officials have stated that applicants who complete their down payment will receive their electric taxis within 3 to 4 months.
This initiative, they emphasized, is designed not only to promote environmentally friendly transportation but also to provide citizens with access to modern and convenient services.
The electric taxi program is part of the Punjab government’s broader efforts to create a sustainable, eco-conscious transport system for the province.
Financing for Buyers
The provincial government will offer financing of up to Rs6.5 million per E-Taxi to the interested buyers for the period of five years. The government will also offer assistance for equity payment.
