Punjab Allows Citizens To Challenge Incorrect E Challans Online

LAHORE – The Punjab Safe Cities Authority has introduced an online review facility to help citizens challenge e-challans they believe were issued incorrectly.

Under the new system, people who receive a disputed e-challan can log in to the official portal and submit a review request by uploading relevant evidence.

If the violation is found to be incorrect after verification, the challan will be cancelled within 24 hours.

The authority has advised citizens to use the review option only for genuine complaints to ensure the system remains effective and complaints can be processed efficiently.

Digital e-challans issued through camera-based monitoring systems play an important role in improving road safety and encouraging compliance with traffic rules.

Automated cameras help identify violations more consistently, reduce manual intervention and promote greater accountability among road users.

The system also supports transparent enforcement by recording traffic violations through technology and providing citizens with a formal process to raise concerns.
