Senior leaders of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf underwent medical tests in the Adiala Jail where they are being kept after their arrest by the Islamabad Police.

They were arrested on Thursday and a day earlier (Wednesday) after the arrest of the PTI Chairman Imran Khan from the Islamabad High Court building on Tuesday.

According to a senior official of the Adiala Jail, a senior doctors’ team took blood and urine samples of Shah Mahmood Qureshi, Asad Umar, Fawad Chaudhry and Jamshed Iqbal Cheema. Besides, different tests were also conducted to ascertain their mental and physical health, he said.

It was found out that Shah Mahmood Qureshi and Jamshed Iqbal Cheema are in good health and apparently they are not facing any serious problem, he said.

However, in the case of Asad Umar and Fawad Chaudhry they are facing issues. Asad Umar, Secretary General of the PTI is suffering from stomach and back issues. Besides, his blood pressure is also not normal, the report said. He has been given medical aid and provided necessary medicines, he said.

Similarly, Fawad Chaudhry is also suffering from urine infection, the report said.

It may be mentioned here that Fawad Chaudhry who is the senior Vice President of the PTI was taken into custody Wednesday night from the premises of the Supreme Court building where he had been taking refuge for 11 hours. However, the police outside the Supreme Court building waited patiently for him and arrested him upon arrival.
