Pakistan Standards and Quality Control Authority has launched a crackdown on cosmetics brands, which could not pass the laboratory tests.
In the first phase, a PSQCA special team raided different stores in the provincial capital and confiscated huge quantity of substandard cosmetics brands and issued warnings to the store owners for de-shelving the unregistered and illegal brands.
According to a spokesman for the PSQCA, on directions of Federal Minister for Science & Technology Fawad Chaudhry, Director General PSQCA Abdul Aleem Memon ordered the Conformity Assessment Lahore Zone team to start crackdown against illegal and harmful cosmetics. The teams collected cosmetics of some brands during the open market sampling and sent those to the laboratory for testing. On receiving the test reports.
