DADU – Azhar Shah, the Pro Vice Chancellor of Sindh University’s Dadu Campus, has been suspended by the provincial government following the circulation of a video on social media that allegedly shows him intoxicated.

The video, which went viral, depicts Shah stumbling and ranting during an interaction with teachers and students.

Students in the video appear to be attempting to assist Shah, who reportedly arrived at work in a state of intoxication, disrupting classes and displaying inappropriate behavior.

In response to the incident, the Sindh government has taken immediate action, suspending Shah and initiating an inquiry into the matter.

Dr. Ahmad Rehan Khan, a notable figure, shared his opinion on social media platform X, criticizing the situation. He wrote, “The VC of Sindh University Dadu Campus showed up intoxicated during work hours and is now suspended pending inquiry. Yet PPP continues to claim Sindh has the best education and healthcare system in Pakistan. The contrast speaks for itself.”

Another user questioned the leadership of Sindh’s universities, asking, “Is this the leadership our universities deserve? What does this say about education standards in Sindh?”

An official inquiry into the incident is ongoing.
