Police actions against gutka mafia lauded


A new high tech automated water filter plant has been installed at PIA Township Karachi, as a gift by Kasim Textiles, free in honour of CEO PIA Air Marshal Arshad Malik. It was a critical demand by lower cadre PIA employees residing at the PIA Township located near the airport however with liquidity crunch of PIA it was not getting materialized. CEO PIA had requested the philanthropic business community of Karachi to help out. With the installation of the filtration Plant, the residents of PIA Township will now have access to safe and healthy drinking water. Besides this filtration plant, a state of the art Information Technology laboratory is also being developed by another philanthropist for PIA Model School also located in the township. The IT laboratory at the school will also provide quality training and free internet access to the students. It must be noted here that the same township, which provides temporary housing to lower staff of PIA, was under encroachment and illegal occupation of non deserving pressure groups and associations and was cleared by the management and allocated to the deserving employees. As per the vision of CEO PIA, Ai Marshal Arshad Malik, the airline’s management is making all efforts to improve infrastructure and facilities at PIA Township for the airline’s staff employees and several development plans are under consideration. It is management’s vision that only people who are happy at home will bring smiles to our customers. PIA’s present management had earlier taken steps to allocate the residential flats to deserving employees on merit and took stern measures against unauthorized occupants, while special initiatives were taken to improve the cleanliness of PIA Township area, renovation of flats, Mosque and PIA Model School.
