ISLAMABAD — Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif arrived in Switzerland to represent Pakistan at World Economic Forum (WEF) Annual Meeting 2026.
The premier visited the Central Europoean nation to attend World Economic Forum as WEF brings together world’s most powerful political leaders, business tycoons, academics, and cultural influencers to shape discussions on global economic challenges, policy direction, and future-driven solutions.

The high-profile gathering in Davos serves as focal point for international diplomacy and economic strategy. Upon arrival at Zurich International Airport, Prime Minister Shehbaz was accorded a warm reception by Pakistan’s Permanent Representative to the UN Muhammad Bilal, Ambassador to Switzerland Marghoub Saleem, and senior members of Pakistan’s diplomatic mission.
During his stay at Davos, PM Sharif will expand engagement with global trade and investment partners. He stressed that Islamabad’s ongoing reform agenda is unlocking major opportunities, powered by resilient and entrepreneurial workforce and vast potential in key sectors including energy, agriculture, minerals, and emerging technologies.
PM is accompanied by powerful, high-level delegation comprising Deputy PM and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, Minister for Information Ataullah Tarar, Special Assistant Tariq Fatemi, along with other senior government officials.
PM Shehbaz will use global forum to showcase government-led reforms aimed at strengthening economic stability and to underline Pakistan’s improving economic indicators amid challenging global conditions.
His visit is packed with high-stakes diplomatic and economic engagements, including series of bilateral meetings with heads of state, government leaders, and top officials from international organisations. One of most anticipated events of the visit is Pakistan–WEF Business Roundtable, jointly organised by Islamabad and the World Economic Forum, which will bring together executives from major global corporations seeking to explore fresh investment opportunities in Pakistan or expand their existing footprint in the country.
