Pakistanis celebrate Independence Day in Stockholm

The 75th Independence Day of Pakistan was celebrated on 14 August 2021 at the Pakistan House Stockholm with zeal and fervour .

The flag hoisting ceremony was held keeping in mind the Covid-19 restrictions. The event was attended by Pakistani community members from all walks of life.

Speaking on the occasion, Ambassador Zahoor Ahmed congratulated all Pakistanis on the 75th Independence Day.

Underlining the historic importance of the day, he said that Pakistan is an inclusive and diverse country which treats all segments of society including religious minorities and women equally and respectfully.

He said all community members are ambassadors of Pakistan in their own way and there is a need to promote Pakistan’s image as a progressive and democratic state.

The Ambassador said while we celebrate this Independence Day, our hearts are profoundly grieved by the sufferings of our brethren in IIOJK.

He added that we stand firmly behind our Kashmiri brethren in their struggle for their right to self-determination and will continue to raise voice of the helpless Kashmiris at all available forums.—PR
