BULAWAYO – Pakistan thrashed Zimbabwe by 99-run in decider at Bulawayo on Thursday to clinch the series 2-1.

The hosts won the opening match while the visitors come back strongly in the last two to win the three-match series.

Chasing a challenging 304-run for the victory, Zimbabwe kept losing wickets at regular intervals and were all out at 204 in 40.1 overs.

Skipper Craig Ervine was the highest scorer with 51-run, followed by Brian Bennett who contributed 37. Sean Williams and Tadiwanashe Marumani made 24 runs each, Clive Madande 20, Richard Ngarava 17 and Sikandar Raza 16 runs. Saim Ayub, Abrar Ahmed, Haris Rauf and Aamer Jamal bagged two wickets each while Faisal Akram and Kamran Ghulam took one each.

After opting to bat first, Pakistan put on a competitive 303/6 in the allocated 50 overs as player of the match Kamran Ghulam scored maiden ODI hundred (103). Abdullah Shafique scored 50 runs, Mohammad Rizwan 37, Saim Ayub 31 and Salman Agha 30 while Tayyab Tahir contributed 29.

Sikandar Raza and Richard Nagarva took two wickets each while Blessing Muzarabani and Faraz Akram got one wicket each.
