BEIJING – Pakistan Army and Chinese Peoples’ Liberation Army Western Theater Command will hold joint counterterrorism exercise “Warrior-IX” until mid-December.
The Chinese Defence Ministry announced it in a statement, adding that the military drills will be held in Pakistan.
Focusing on the theme of “joint counter-terrorism clearance and strike operations,” the exercise aims to test and enhance the joint counter-terrorism capabilities of the two militaries and jointly safeguard regional peace and stability.
Earlier this month, the Pakistan–Saudi Arabia joint military exercise Al-Battar II concluded in Tabuk, after it was held held from November 18 to 26.
The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said the exercise brought together the Pakistan Army’s Special Services Group (SSG) and Saudi military units for advanced counter terrorism exercise designed to strengthen interoperability and sharpen operational readiness.
During the exercise, troops from both sides demonstrated high-level professional skills, particularly in counterterrorism operations.
The drills focused on urban combat, improvised explosive device (IED) disposal, and coordinated tactical procedures aimed at improving joint response capabilities.
ISPR said the engagement not only enhanced the forces’ ability to conduct complex operations but also further cemented the longstanding defence partnership between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.
