Pakistan Army destroys several Afghan Taliban posts after civilians targeted in Waziristan

Pakistan Army Destroys Several Afghan Taliban Posts After Civilians Targeted In Waziristan

SOUTH WAZIRISTAN – Pakistan Army launched a strong retaliatory response after cross-border firing by Afghan Taliban forces in Angoor Adda, South Waziristan, left one civilian dead and five members of the same family injured, according to local authorities and security sources.

The incident occurred on the night of October 27, when Afghan Taliban forces targeted Angoor Adda Bazaar and nearby residential areas.

According to the deputy commissioner of South Waziristan, a mortar shell struck a house, killing one civilian and injuring five others.

The firing also reportedly damaged several shops in the border area, prompting concern among local residents over the targeting of civilian property.

Security sources said Pakistani forces responded swiftly to the incident, destroying several checkpoints belonging to Afghan forces during the retaliatory action.

The sources added that Pakistani troops stationed along the border remained alert and prepared to counter any further hostile activity.

Tensions between Pakistan and Afghanistan have persisted over cross-border militancy and allegations concerning the presence of armed groups in Afghanistan.

Pakistan maintains that the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) and other militant groups use Afghan territory to launch attacks inside Pakistan.
