Number of pending cases in SC rises to 40,839

The number of pending cases in the Supreme Court reached to 40,839 on July 15, it is learnt on Saturday.
There has been a sharp increase in the number of cases as a total of 489 cases are pending at the apex court in the first 15 days of July.
Likewise, about 3,000 cases have been filed in the apex court since February 2019. As per the report issued by Supreme Court, a total of 835 new cases were filed at the in the first 15 days of July and 346 were resolved within the same time period.—INP
