MURREE – In a move to maintain peace and ensure a family-friendly atmosphere, the Deputy Police Officer (DPO) of Murree has announced a ban on bachelor tourists from entering Mall Road on the New Year’s Eve.
Section 144 has been enforced in Murree for these dates, and violations of this order will result in legal action.
The DPO stated that the decision was made to provide a better environment for families visiting the area during the festive season. While bachelor tourists are restricted from Mall Road, they are encouraged to explore other scenic spots in Galyat and other recreational locations.
The police authorities have urged all visitors to comply with the new regulations for a peaceful and enjoyable holiday experience in Murree.
Earlier, Murree’s District Police Officer (DPO) highlighted the safety of tourists and their smooth passage as his top concern, particularly with the arrival of snowfall in the area.
In a statement, the DPO assured the public that he would personally oversee all preparations to ensure the well-being of visitors during this peak season. With a steady flow of tourists continuing beyond the holiday period, Dr. Tanveer announced the activation of an enhanced traffic management plan to maintain order and safety on the roads.
The DPO emphasized the importance of a safe and hassle-free experience for all travelers and issued a set of important guidelines to help manage the influx of tourists. One of the key safety measures includes the mandatory use of “snow chains” on vehicle tires to prevent slipping on icy or snow-covered roads.
He also advised against parking vehicles on the roadside for photography, as this could cause traffic congestion. Other recommendations for tourists include carrying enough fuel, checking vehicle conditions before the trip, and keeping car windows slightly open for proper ventilation and oxygen flow during travel.
