KARACHI – The Sindh School Education Department has introduced revised timings for government schools across the province, with the new schedule taking effect from August 6, 2026.
According to a circular issued by the department, all government schools have been instructed to implement the updated timings.
The revised schedule covers primary, elementary, secondary and higher secondary institutions, with separate timings for single-shift and double-shift schools as well as seasonal adjustments.
Single-Shift School Timings
Under the new schedule, single-shift primary schools will operate from 8:00am to 2:30pm from Monday to Thursday and from 8:00am to 1:00pm on Fridays between August 6 and October 31.
From November 1 to March 31, the timings for these schools will change to 8:30am to 3:00pm.
Double-Shift School Timings
For double-shift elementary, secondary and higher secondary schools, the first shift will run from 7:30am to 1:30pm between August 6 and October 31. During the period from November 1 to March 31, the first shift will begin at 8:00am and end at 1:45pm.
The department has directed all government schools to strictly follow the revised timetable with immediate effect.
