Adviser to Prime Minister on Political and Public Affairs Rana Sanaullah said that Nawaz Sharif made the Pakistan Muslim League as the most popular political party after Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah.
“N in the PML-N means Nawaz Sharif. He took the party to fame and it made governments thrice under his leadership,” said Rana Sanaullah, who is also the chief election commissioner of intra-party elections, while addressing a press conference in Lahore on Monday.
He revealed that eleven nomination papers were received for the election of the party president, and still the members and the leaders could submit the nomination papers. Sanaullah said, “If the whole party agrees to elect him again then there should be no issue in the re-election of Nawaz Sharif”.
He said that everyone has the right to file the nomination papers and they were sitting for this purpose.
Talking about revamping of the PML-N, Rana Sanaullah said that the PML-N is present at all levels, pointing out that there is always a need to mobilize the working.
“The process of mobilizing the workers in the parties always continues,” said the PM’s aide.
Responding to a question, he said that Nawaz Sharif is not angry with anyone and he is quite active these days. To a question about Imran Khan’s recent tweet, Rana Sanaullah said that he had warned long ago that he [Imran Khan] could lead the country to any trouble. He also prayed for Imran Khan that may his ‘end’ not be like Sheikh Mujeeb.
He stated that Shehbaz Sharif is the most reliable person after Nawaz Sharif in the party.
Rana Sanaullah stated that his party had completed work on its the constitutional amendments and due permission would be sought from the party’s secretary general in the central meeting on Tuesday (today).
He emphasized that the ongoing intra-party elections are being conducted transparently.
