 Nationalist groups to form alliance on 10th

Representatives of like-minded nationalist parties met the other day to discuss formation of a possible parliamentary alliance of nationalist parties and decided to announce the name of the alliance on May 10.

The meeting chaired by Sindh Taraqqi-pasand Party chairman Dr Qadir Magsi and attended by Qaumi Awami Tehreek president Ayaz Latif Palijo, Sindh United Party’s Ameer Hassan Panhwar, Awami Jamhoori Party’s Lal Shah, Nisar Leghari of Porhiyat Muzahemat Tehreek and Alam Brohi of Social Democratic Party discussed overall political situation in the country and Sindh.

and resolved that a Sindh friendly alliance was the need of the hour to fight against feudal lords and sardars who represented different parties.The meeting noted that this alliance could be helpful in countering threats to Sindh’s permanent interests and discussed 12 points that were core issues of Sindh.

These points included settlements of outsiders in Sindh, Sindh’s right over its resources, quality education, transparent census, energy, employment, protection of life and property of common man, right over Sindh’s share of water and elimination of corruption.The meeting agreed on a common flag of the alliance and its name and said the announcement to this effect would be made on May 10 at STP House.
