ISLAMABAD – The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has simplified the process of buying and selling Sindh-registered vehicles by introducing biometric verification through the Pak ID app.
This initiative, in collaboration with the Government of Sindh, allows citizens to complete vehicle ownership transfers from the comfort of their homes.
According to NADRA officials, both buyers and sellers can verify their identities via the Pak ID app, after which the remaining vehicle transfer procedures can be completed with the relevant authorities.
Previously, the Excise and Taxation Department of Sindh required a formal process for transferring ownership of cars and motorcycles, including mandatory biometric verification. This system was designed to prevent forgery and legal complications.
Step by Step Process
Biometric Verification: Identity of both buyer and seller confirmed via NADRA or E-Sahulat Center.
Sale Agreement: Written agreement on stamp paper signed by both parties.
Application Submission: Visit the Excise office in Karachi to obtain a token and submit the form.
Document Submission: Required documents submitted along with the completed form.
Fee Payment: Transfer fees and token taxes can be paid online or at the office.
Receipt and Verification: Official receipt issued after document verification.
Smart Registration Card Issuance: New card issued to the buyer within 5 to 15 working days.
Required Documents for Sellers and Buyers
Required documents for the seller include the original registration book or smart card, CNIC copy, signed application, sale agreement, clearance certificate, and passport-size photo.
Buyers need to provide a CNIC copy, passport-size photo, valid vehicle tax certificate, proof of residence, and vehicle inspection certificate.
This initiative is expected to make vehicle transactions in Sindh faster, safer, and legally more secure.
