NA body passes Emigration Amendment Bill

A legislative body of Upper House of parliament on Monday unanimously passed the Bill titled “The Emigration (Amendment) Bill, 2023”.

The Bill aimed to provide ease to emigrants by allowing them to appear in person or virtually for registration of names by their protectors, Senator Shahadat Awan apprised.

Meeting of Senate Standing Committee on Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development was held here at Parliament House on Monday with Senator Anwar ul Haq Kakar in Chair.

While reviewing the expenses and disputes of EOBI, Senator Shahadat Awan stated that it was informed that the total expense of EOBI is around 1.97 billion rupees per year but details of expenses have not been provided. Moreover, in the previous meeting, officials informed that final challan has been submitted against all the accused and a summary have been also submitted to Cabinet for change of Board of Director Members. However, the documents submitted by the EOBI shows otherwise, he added.
