LAHORE – The medicines and medical supplies worth Rs2.6 million have allegedly been stolen from the emergency ward of Lahore General Hospital, hospital officials said.
A spokesperson of hospital said that medicines and equipment worth Rs2.6 million were reported missing from the emergency department.
The Assistant Medical Superintendent (AMS) has registered a First Information Report (FIR) over the alleged theft, the spokesperson said.
The FIR alleged that the director of the emergency department and a pharmacy dispenser were involved in the theft.
The spokesperson further said that one of the suspects had previously been dismissed from Jinnah Hospital about six months ago over an alleged medicines theft.
The police have initiated an investigation into the incident, while further details are awaited.
