ISLAMABAD – The national entrance exam MDCAT is slated to be held on October 5, 2025 Sunday, as medical aspirants are gearing up to get admission in medical and dental colleges.
The date comes after PMDC revamped the test format, adding Logical Reasoning to the syllabus for the first time ever. MDCAT 2025 will feature 180 MCQs in 3 hours, with no negative marking — a big relief for students. Eligibility bars are set at 55% for MBBS and 50% for BDS aspirants.
With the clock ticking and a new syllabus in play, it’s game on for thousands of future doctors and dentists across Pakistan. The nationwide entrance exam will take place on Sunday, October 5, 2025, and will be conducted simultaneously across all provinces.
The announcement was made during a meeting of the National Assembly Standing Committee on National Health Services, chaired by Dr. Mahesh Kumar Malani. PMDC representatives confirmed that preparations are underway to ensure smooth and transparent conduct of the exam across the country.

In addition to the date, the medical body released the revised MDCAT syllabus for 2025. The exam will include five subjects Biology, Chemistry, Physics, English, and Logical Reasoning. This marks a notable change, with Logical Reasoning added to assess analytical skills.
