A press conference was held at Press Club Lahore under the auspices of Majlis Ulama-e-Pakistan and Interfaith Council for Peace and Harmony. Ambassador of Peace Maulana Syed Muhammad Abdul Khabir Azad addressing the conference said that the desecration of the Holy Quran in Sweden is condemnable and today he condemns it in strong words at this forum, Sweden has once again desecrated the Holy Quran. It has hurt the feelings of more than a billion Muslims, the Holy Quran is the source of growth and guidance for all humanity, the sanctity of the Holy Quran and the protection of the honor of all the Prophets is the responsibility of all of us. We will not allow him to insult the Holy Qur’an or our Holy Prophet (Peace Be Upon Him).
We respect all the revealed books and the Prophets (Peace Be Upon Them) as part of our faith. Maulana Azad said that Islam teaches us respect for humanity, religious harmony, tolerance, brotherhood and spreading love.
Today, such events in the world are becoming a source of discord and distance between the Muslim Ummah and other religions. The international community, the United Nations, OIC should make strict laws against such actions so that no one dares to desecrate the sanctities of any religion. The desecration of the Holy Quran in Sweden should be taken seriously, Maulana Azad added. Europe and all Islamic countries including Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Iraq, Bahrain, Oman, Iran, Malaysia and other countries and the courage with which Pope Francis has condemned the incident in Sweden is commendable.
Maulana Azad said that inter-religious and inter-faith leaders strongly condemn the incident in Sweden and support the creation of a strict law at the global level to prevent it. Addressing the conference, other speakers said that in Sweden. The desecration of the Holy Quran is very sad and condemnable, all religions command respect for each other and the good of humanity. So that in the future no one will have the courage to insult, such incidents can destroy world peace.
The leaders of the Muslim Ummah and all religions should raise their voices on the world forum. Desecration of the Holy Quran is a heinous conspiracy to destroy world peace. The most severe punishment should be set for insulting the Holy Prophet, and all divine books.
