PESHAWAR – At least one man was killed in a bomb blast in Zaga Dheri Sevi, located in Mamund Tehsil of Bajaur, the police officials confirmed on Wednesday.
Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Niaz Muhammad said that an investigation into the incident has been launched.
The authorities launched investigation to determine the cause of the blast and identify those responsible.
The security forces cordoned off the area as part of the ongoing inquiry.
On January 12, at least eight terrorists were killed in separate operations conducted by the police and the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) in different areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The Central Police Office (CPO) said that joint operations were carried out in Bannu, Khyber and the outskirts of Peshawar’s Zahir Garhi area, resulting in the killing of eight terrorists.
The police officials said the slain militants were involved in attacks on security forces and were planning further acts of terrorism in the province.
They added that a major terrorist plot was foiled during an operation in Nakak Kallay, located near the Shah Kass Bypass Road.
A cache of weapons and mobile phones was recovered from the terrorists during the operation.
The authorities said search and clearance operations were conducted in the surrounding areas to ensure security and prevent any further militant activity.
