Mainly cold, dry weather expected



Mainly cold and dry weather is expected in most parts of the country. However, light rain/light snowfall is likely in Gilgit-Baltistan, Chitral and Dir. Temperature of some major cities recorded. Islamabad ten degree centigrade, Lahore fifteen, Karachi seventeen, Peshawar fourteen, Quetta and Muzaffarabad eight, Gilgit six and Murree two degree centigrade.

According to Met Office forecast for Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir, partly cloudy and cold weather is expected in Srinagar, Anantnag, Pulwama, Baramula, Leh and Shopian while dry in Jammu. Temperatures recorded: Srinagar, Baramula and Pulwama two degree centigrade, Jammu fourteen, Leh minus seven, Anantnag and Shopian three degree centigrade. Meanwhile the Provincial Meteorological Center Peshawar on Thursday predicted cold and dry weather in most districts of the province, while very cold weather in upper districts and hilly areas.

It said that isolated light rain and drizzle with light snowfall over the hills are likely to occur over Chitral districts. During the last 24 hours cold and dry weather occurred over most districts of the province, while very cold in upper districts and hilly areas.

The maximum and minimum temperatures recorded in centigrade at different stations of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa were Peshawar City 27/09, Chitral.—APP
