KARACHI – Renowned Pakistani actress Mahira Khan has addressed the criticism surrounding her age, particularly after playing the lead role in the hit film Love Guru.
In a recent interview, the star responded with grace and confidence, saying that she has no intention of hiding her age or conforming to societal expectations.
Mahira revealed that her mother was hurt by an age-related comment and suggested that she conceal her age from the public. However, Mahira firmly rejected the idea. “When I got married, had a child, and later got divorced, I was always honest and never kept anything hidden. So why would I hide my age now?” she remarked.
The actress emphasized that she remains true to herself and is unaffected by public opinion on the matter. “It doesn’t matter to me what people say about my age. I don’t let such comments influence who I am,” she added.
Mahira Khan has recently been praised for her powerful performance in Lo Guru, a film that has resonated with audiences and achieved notable commercial success.
However, she has also faced criticism for portraying a leading romantic role at the age of 40 — a point that has sparked debate in the industry and among fans.
Despite the backlash, Love Guru has proven to be a box office success and earned over PKR 700 million so far and continuing its strong run in cinemas nationwide.
