Punjab Information Minister Fayyazul Hassan Chohan has termed it ridiculous to link arrest of Shehbaz Sharif with the Gilgit-Baltistan elections. He asked Begum Safdar Awan to tell how many PML-N leaders including Shehbaz Sharif visited Gilgit-Baltistan in the last six months.
Addressing a press conference in response to Begum Safdar Awan’s media talk on Monday following arrest of Shehbaz Sharif, Fayyaz Chohan said that PML-N, which controlled the country through one family, is today accusing the incumbent government of making Pakistan a one-party state.
The minister further said that the ongoing political tension between Nawaz Sharif and Shehbaz Sharif cannot be hidden through empty rhetoric. Responding to Begum Safdar Awan’s terming accountability as personal and political revenge, Fayyazul Hassan Chauhan said that perhaps Begum Safdar Awan was not aware of more than one and a half dozen accused arrested in the Ramzan Sugar Mill case.
He said that Begum Safdar Awan tried unsuccessfully to intimidate the government with All Parties’ Conference today. The people have already seen failure and disgrace of dozens of such APCs by the non-united opposition, he added.
