Lahore experienced the coldest day of this winter season as the temperature dropped to 07°C on Sunday.
Cold and dry weather will continue to persist in Lahore and most districts of Punjab on Sunday night, Monday and Tuesday.
As per the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), continental air prevails over most parts of Pakistan. A shallow westerly wave prevails over the extreme northern parts of the country.
Under these weather conditions, mainly cold and dry weather will continue to persist in Lahore and most districts of Punjab on Sunday night and the next two days. Very cold weather is expected in Murree, Galiyat and the upper districts.
Smog/fog may develop in Sialkot, Narowal, Lahore, Sheikhupura, Gujranwala, Gujrat, Jhelum, Faisalabad, Jhang, Toba Tek Singh, Sahiwal, Multan, Khanewal, Layyah, Kot Addu and Bahawalpur during morning and night hours.
Lahore’s minimum temperature will likely remain between 06-08°C on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.
Meanwhile, cold and dry weather prevailed in Lahore and most parts of Punjab during the last 24 hours. Smog/fog persisted in Lahore and the plains of Punjab.
Attock remained the coldest place in Punjab, where the temperature dropped to 03°C. Relative humidity in the evening was recorded at 52 per cent.
In Lahore, the minimum temperature was recorded at 07°C. Relative humidity in the evening was recorded at 37 per cent.
