KW&SC clarifies over Gulistan e Johar incident

Observer ReportIn a recent incident during the cleaning of the main holes in Gulistan-e-Jauhar Block 13, two workers tragically lost their lives.The spokesperson of Karachi Water and Sewerage Corporation (KWSC) issued a statement, said that there was no blockage in the KWSC’s sewage lines in Gulistan-e-Jauhar Block 13. Instead, the main line of the sewage system in a residential apartment in Gulistan-e-Jauhar Block 13 got blocked.

The spokesperson KWSC explained that the residential apartment management had not lodged any complaints with the water and sewerage corporation about the sewage issues. However, after receiving information, the KWSC  officials promptly arrived. “They dispatched their vehicles and immediately carried out a thorough cleaning of the line,” the spokesperson KWSC said.The spokesperson KWSC expressed regret over the loss of two innocent lives, blaming the residential apartment management for not reporting the sewage problem promptly. Furthermore, the spokesperson condemned the irresponsible employment of private workers by the residential apartment management, emphasizing that this practice is incorrect.
