AS the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia commemorated its National Day on Tuesday, it stood not only in celebration of its historic unification but also in recognition of its extraordinary journey toward transformation, driven by bold vision, strategic leadership and unwavering national resolve.
Under the dynamic and visionary stewardship of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Saudi Arabia is experiencing a metamorphosis that promises to reshape its economic and geopolitical identity for generations to come.
At the heart of this transformation lies Vision 2030—an ambitious and forward-looking roadmap that seeks to diversify the Kingdom’s economy beyond oil, empower its youth, unlock the potential of its human capital and position Saudi Arabia as a global hub of innovation, sustainability and cultural renaissance. One of the most remarkable manifestations of this vision is the Shuaibah Solar Power Plant, located near Jeddah. With a staggering total capacity of 2.6 gigawatts, it has become the largest solar power facility in the Middle East. This project, integrating state-of-the-art photovoltaic technology and advanced automation, is expected to produce over 282 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity over its 35-year lifespan. These strides are not limited to the energy sector alone. Across the Kingdom, mega-projects, such as NEOM, continue to symbolize the new Saudi Arabia—modern, inclusive and economically resilient.
On the international front, Saudi Arabia marked its National Day this year with a moment of historic diplomatic significance: the signing of a landmark defence agreement with Pakistan. This pact is not merely a strategic alignment; it is a reaffirmation of the time-tested, fraternal bond that has long united Riyadh and Islamabad. With mutual respect, shared values and aligned visions for regional stability and prosperity, this agreement is poised to open doors for deeper cooperation in areas ranging from defence and security to trade, economy, Science and Technology and so on. Saudi Arabia today stands at a unique intersection of heritage and progress. While firmly rooted in its Islamic values and proud traditions, the Kingdom is boldly stepping into a new era—guided by foresight, sustained by innovation and driven by a leadership that has dared to dream beyond boundaries.
