Intermittent rains and gusty winds are expected in Peshawar and parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Monday night and Tuesday.
According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), moisture-rich currents from the Arabian Sea continue to move into Pakistan’s upper and central parts. A westerly weather system is also affecting the central parts of the country.
Under the influence of these weather systems, intermittent rains and gusty winds are expected in Dir, Chitral, Swat, Kalam, Malam Jabba, Kohistan, Shangla, Battagram, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Parachinar, Buner, Peshawar, Kurram, Kohat and Waziristan on Monday night and Tuesday.
Strong winds and lightning could damage weak infrastructure, including solar panels, electricity poles and roadside billboards. Landslides and flash flooding may occur in vulnerable areas of the province.
Peshawar’s maximum temperatures are expected to remain between 39°C and 41°C on Tuesday and Wednesday.
Meanwhile, hot and humid weather prevailed in Peshawar and most parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa during the last 24 hours. However, Malam Jabba and Kalam received scattered rains.
Dera Ismail Khan remained the hottest place in the province, where the mercury reached 40°C. Relative humidity in the evening was recorded at 45 per cent.
The maximum temperature in Peshawar was recorded at 39°C. Relative humidity in the evening was recorded at 32 per cent.
