Karachi, Hyderabad, Sindh weather update; more widespread rains expected

KARACHI – More widespread rains with scattered heavy and isolated very heavy falls are expected in Karachi, Hyderabad and most parts of Sindh on Wednesday night, Thursday and Friday with occasional gaps.

Per the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), deep depression over Nagarparkar and adjoining coastal areas of Sindh will likely move west/southwest during next 24 hours.

Due to this weather system, strong monsoon currents penetrate Pakistan, especially southern parts. A westerly wave will likely affect upper parts from tomorrow.

Under these weather conditions, more intermittent rains with scattered heavy and few very heavy falls are expected in Tharparkar, Nagarparkar, Islamkot, Mithi, Mirpur Khas, Umarkot, Tando Allahyar, Tando Muhammad Khan, Matiari, Sanghar, Karachi, Hyderabad, Thatta, Badin, Sajawal, Shaheed Benazirabad, Jamshoro, Sukkur, Ghotki, Shikarpur, Kashmore, Khairpur, Larkana, Jacobabad, Dadu and Nausheroferoze on Wednesday night and the next two days.

Heavy rains may generate flood/inundation in low lying areas of Sindh. Flash flooding is likely in local nullahs/streams of Dadu, Karachi and Hyderabad.

Karachi’s maximum temperature will likely remain between 29-31°C on Thursday and 30-32°C on Friday.

Hyderabad’s maximum temperature will likely remain between 29-31°C on Thursday and 30-32°C on Friday.

Meanwhile, rains with isolated heavy falls occurred in Karachi, Hyderabad and most districts of Sindh.

In Karachi, maximum temperature was recorded at 29°C. Relative humidity in the evening was recorded at 92 per cent.

In Hyderabad, maximum temperature was recorded at 29°C. Relative humidity in the evening was recorded at 100 per cent.
