TEHRAN – The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) of Iran on Wednesday declared its latest wave of missile attacks on Israel as a turning point, claiming it signals the beginning of the collapse of what it called the “self-imposed Zionist regime.”
The IRGC said that the 11th wave of strikes targeted Israeli military sites using Fateh-1 hypersonic missiles. The elite force claimed that the advanced weaponry “shook the hideouts of the cowardly Zionists” and demonstrated Iran’s growing military capabilities.
The IRGC also asserted that Iran had established “complete control” over Israeli airspace and that Israel’s defense systems appeared “incapable of intercepting” the attacks.
Meanwhile, regional diplomatic activity intensified as UAE President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan spoke with newly elected Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian via telephone. According to state media, the Emirati leader expressed solidarity with Iran in the wake of Israeli aggression and reaffirmed the UAE’s commitment to supporting peace and stability in the region.
“The UAE will continue its efforts for restoring calm in the Middle East,” the UAE president was quoted as saying, emphasizing the need for regional cooperation and dialogue.
In a related development, Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei issued a stern warning following threats from former US President Donald Trump and senior Israeli officials.
In a post on social media platform X, Khamenei vowed a forceful response against what he termed the “terrorist Zionist state,” stating that Iran would act with “full strength and no mercy.”
His statement came in reaction to a controversial message shared by Donald Trump, who claimed to know the Supreme Leader’s location and labeled him “an easy target,” while also asserting that the US had not yet decided to act.
The reports also surfaced alleging that Israel had devised a plan to assassinate the Iranian Supreme Leader, which was ultimately blocked by Trump during his presidency.
