ISLAMABAD – Intermittent monsoon rains and gusty winds are likely in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, and parts of Pakistan on Sunday night and Monday.
According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), moist currents from the Arabian Sea penetrate southern parts of Pakistan and are likely to approach the upper parts tonight. A low-pressure area lies over Sindh and the adjoining areas of Baluchistan. A trough of a westerly wave is likely to approach the upper parts tomorrow.
Under these conditions, intermittent monsoon rains with isolated heavy falls are likely in the twin cities, upper/southeastern Sindh, northeastern/southern Punjab, north/southern Balochistan, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pothohar region, Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir on Sunday night and Monday.
Islamabad’s maximum temperature is expected to remain between 35°C and 37°C on Monday and Tuesday and between 34°C and 36°C on Wednesday.
Rawalpindi’s maximum temperature is expected to remain between 35°C and 37°C on Monday and Tuesday and between 34°C and 36°C on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, rains with isolated heavy falls occurred in parts of Sindh during the last 24 hours.

Dalbandin and Nokkundi remained the hottest places in Pakistan, where the maximum temperature was recorded at 46°C. The maximum temperature in Chilas was recorded at 45°C.
In Islamabad, the maximum temperature was recorded at 36°C. Relative humidity in the evening was recorded at 66 per cent.
In Rawalpindi, the maximum temperature was recorded at 36°C. Relative humidity in the evening was recorded at 56 per cent.
