Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif personally welcomed the Iranian leader as a smartly turned-out contingent of Pakistan’s armed forces presented a ceremonial salute and Guard of Honor. The reception underscored the importance Islamabad attaches to its ties with Tehran amid evolving regional dynamics.
Adding a symbolic touch to the visit, President Pezeshkian planted a tree on the lawns of the Prime Minister House, a gesture often associated with friendship, cooperation, and long-term partnership between nations.
The Iranian President also met members of Pakistan’s federal cabinet and exchanged greetings individually with senior ministers. Among those present were Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, Defence Minister Khawaja Asif, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, Ali Pervaiz Malik, Information Minister Atta Tarar, Rana Tanveer Hussain, Abdul Aleem Khan, Railways Minister Hanif Abbasi, Jam Kamal Khan, Awais Leghari, and Ahad Cheema.
