Former convener of All Parties Hurriyat Conference Azad Jammu and Kashmir (APHC-AJK) chapter Muhammad Hussain Khateeb and the leaders of Jammu and Kashmir Freedom Movement (Forum) have said that India is killing the Hurriyat leadership extra-judicially to crush the Kashmir freedom movement.

Muhammad Hussain Khateeb and other leaders in a joint statement in Islamabad deplored that leaders like Muhammad Ashraf Sehrai were martyred in custody due to non-availability of medical facilities and proper food. They also expressed concern over the hunger strike unto death by illegally detained Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front Chairman, Muhammad Yasin Malik in infamous Tihar jail. The Hurriyat leaders appealed to the international community to immediately intervene and stop India from its intransigence on the Kashmir dispute and put pressure on it to settle the lingering dispute through meaningful and result-oriented dialogue.

They strongly condemned the illegal detentions of freedom-loving political leaders Muhammad Sharif Sartaj, Muhammad Hanif Kalas, Shabbir Ahmad Shah, Nayeem Ahmad Khan, Aasiya Andrabi.
