Independence Day festival to hold various competitions



The Independence Day Festival organized under the supervision of Commissioner Karachi with the support of Bank Islami will hold various inter-school competitions in Karachi in collaboration with the Department of Education.

Presiding over a meeting on Wednesday at his office, Commissioner Karachi Muhammad Iqbal Memon said that there would be Naat, speech, and national songs competitions. Iqbal said that under the patronage of the chief minister Sindh and the chief secretary, the commissioner’s office would organise the events in a grand manner.

He said the education department had always cooperated with the administration of Karachi and hoped that the programmes would be organized in rich manner.

The commissioner announced that there would be a speech competition in district Korangi on August 18, national songs competition in district South on August 24 and Naat Khwani competition in district Central on August 26.

The deputy commissioners and the administration of all the districts would fully participate in the programmes, he said.

Additional Director of Schools Farnaz Riaz, Registrar Qazi Abdul Razak, Assistant Commissioner General Abid Qamar Shaikh, Coordinator Ghulam Muhammad Khan and Muhammad Akhlaq attended the meeting.

On the occasion, the officials of Education department briefed about the complete details of all the programs.
