DUBAI – Pakistan’s Salman Agha and Saim Ayub have made major jumps in the latest ICC One-Day International (ODI) player rankings, coinciding with Pakistan’s rise to fourth place in the team rankings after their victory over Sri Lanka.
Salman Agha, who scored a century in the first ODI against Sri Lanka, moved up 14 places to 16th, while Saim Ayub climbed 18 spots to reach 35th position.
In the team rankings, India remains at the top, followed by New Zealand in second and Australia in third. Pakistan’s win over Sri Lanka lifted them to fourth place, while Sri Lanka dropped to fifth.
Among other Pakistani batsmen, captain Babar Azam slipped two positions to seventh, Fakhar Zaman dropped five places to 31st, and Mohammad Rizwan fell four spots to 27th.
India’s Rohit Sharma continues to lead the batting rankings.
In bowling, no Pakistani players are in the top 15. Afghanistan’s Rashid Khan holds the top position, followed by England’s Jofra Archer, who moved up one place to second, and South Africa’s Keshav Maharaj, who dropped one spot to third. Shaheen Afridi is ranked 16th, Abrar Ahmed jumped 18 places to 20th, and Haris Rauf climbed two spots to 29th.
In the all-rounder rankings, Afghanistan’s Azmatullah Omarzai leads, followed by Zimbabwe’s Sikandar Raza and Mohammad Nabi. Salman Agha’s rise to 11th in the all-rounder list highlights his recent strong performances for Pakistan.
The updated ICC ODI rankings reflect recent series results and emphasize the progress of emerging Pakistani talents like Salman Agha and Saim Ayub, who are increasingly making their mark on the international stage.
